A loved one dying. A terminal illness is progressing. Children traumatized by domestic violence. Unable to help a loved one suffering from anxiety and depression. Aging family member needs 24-hour assistance but relationship strife making it challenging to care for them. Communication turmoil causing unnecessary tension. Costly damage to a car because you thought you were going in reverse when you put the foot all the way down on the gas pedal. Wow, who does that?
All of this happened in just one week. One situation stacked on top of the other — the emotions running from A-Z. Energy levels going up and down. When my daughter called about her car, I laughed out loud and said, “Lord, you are hilarious!” It was the tiny thing that tipped the scales from, “Ok, Lord, you got this!” to “Ok, Lord really?”
Then I came across Psalm 54:4 that was on a cover of a journal in TJ Maxx
(my favorite retail-therapy store!). I stood there, staring at the Scripture, unable to move. I kept repeating the Scripture over and over. I finally realized that I had to buy the journal just because I never want to forget this Scripture.
Because the Lord is THE upholder of my life, I declare that:
- I stand firm amidst the storms!
- I stand firm on my faith in Yahweh no matter what!
- I stand firm that He is bigger than the biggest problem I face in this life!
- I stand firm as the wind blows, trying to drown my hope and steal my joy because the Lord is keeping me through it all!
No matter where you find yourself, no matter the situations you are facing, even the worst thing you can imagine, trust and believe that if you believe in the Most-High God, you too can stand firm because the Lord is the upholder of your life. Never forget this Scripture!
Be encouraged today. I am!
