Ready to upgrade in 2020?

Can you believe we are in a new year and a new decade! How exciting! There is just something about new beginnings that I love! Whether it is the beginning of a brand new month or a new week, it does not matter. It’s like pushing a reset button, giving me the feeling that I have the power to do anything and to become anything that I want!

What are you hoping for in this new year?

I am always amazed when I hear about the hordes of people standing in line for hours waiting to purchase, say a new iPhone. For some of these folks, it may be their first one, and they are super anxious to join the iPhone club.  Many of them already have one, and they are upgrading because of the promises for a better camera experience or whatever perks come with the upgrade. While others don’t care about the promises, they upgrade their phones because that is what they do when a newer version becomes available.

What amazes me is that we will upgrade not only our phones, but our cars, our houses, and our education because of the promises of better toys, better experiences, better opportunities, and increased earning potential.

Yet do we upgrade ourselves?

Meaning, do we upgrade our habits, our mindsets, our faith, and our spiritual understanding? Do we invest in these areas as we do with our material things? And aren’t these areas more important than the stuff we buy and can lose in a blink of an eye?

Matthew 6:19-21 King James Version (KJV) warns us to:

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Where is your heart? How will you upgrade your life? What kind of treasures will you store up in this new year? How will you invest in you improving your habits, your mindsets, your faith, and your spiritual understanding?

Our theme for this year, Becoming the Best Version of Yourself, will help you answer these questions, be transformative and a blessing to you!
